Our mission is to establish access to SURVIVE and THRIVE services for EVERY CHILD in Owensboro-Daviess County by 2029. Our dedicated team of community collaborators is committed to taking a data-driven, solution based approach to meeting the needs of our most vulnerable population.
SPARKodc began as a collaboration with Dominic Cappello co-author of Anna, Age 8 and developer of the Resilience Leaders project. In early 2019 SPARKodc completed a community wide survey to establish data to work strategically from. SPARKodc is a collaborative of change makers from the 5 SURVIVE (mental health, medical/dental, food/nutrition assistance, affordable housing, and transportation) and 5 THRIVE (parent supports, early childhood learning, job training, youth mentors, and family centered schools) focus areas.
Our meetings, or Bright Ideas, are held on the first Friday of every month. During these meeting we use an adaption of the World Cafe model to develop groundbreaking ideas for reducing Adverse Childhood Experiences and creating stronger children and families.
